Dear all,

First of all, many thanks for the many donations we have received! It’s wonderful and heart warming that so many people sympathize with the dire situation in Nepal and that so much confidence has been put in the Laxmi Support Foundation.

We still plan to travel to Nepal in July where we want to focus our actions on the childrens home Hopeful Home and the Chakersur Shree Primary School in the Nuwakot district. This area is heavily affected by the earthquakes. Many houses are badly damaged. See enclosed a picture of the house of our good friend Gopini, the first picture is before the earthquake and the second picture afterwards.

After the second earthquake with a strength of 7.3 magnitude on last Tuesday, the children of Hopeful Home were forced to return to the tent. It is unclear how long the children will remain sleeping outside. Aftershocks can be felt on daily basis. To give you an idea, 36 earthquakes with a strength between 4 and 5 in the past week alone. Many shops, restaurants and schools in Kathmandu have been closed.

A good friend of ours, Laura Tenison, founder of the successful baby clothing company JoJo Maman BeBe, has set up a blog for Nepal and Laxmi Support: check it out: http://blog.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/jojo-to-donate-to-nepalese-emergency-fund/

Thanks once again for all your donations. Spread the word and keep up the support.

Best wishes,
Alex, Samantha, Henk, Sylvia
