The Marlief Foundation was set up in memory of Marlies. Marlies had made plans to volunteer for four weeks at the Hopeful Home children’s home through Laxmi Support, but unfortunately at the last minute she had to cancel her trip due to illness. Marlies died very soon afterwards. A year later her friends carried out her mission and paid a visit to Hopeful Home. Soon after, the Marlief Foundation was set up and ever since support projects have been carried out for Hopeful Home.
