A the end of September the Nepalese people celebrate the biggest festival of the year, the Dashain festival. It is the longest and most beloved festival in the Nepali annual calendar, celebrated by Nepalis of all caste throughout the country. During the fifteen day celebration, Goddess Durga is worshipped in all her manifestations with countless pujas, lavish offerings and thousands of animal sacrifices.
This year we sponsored the festival for Hopeful Home and it brought great joy. Ram bought herbs and a goat at the market for the feast and the children were allowed to choose new clothes in the shop, something that doesn’t happen very often. A few girls chose a dress and others chose trousers and a t-shirt.
We’re very happy that we were able to help the children by sponsoring this auspicious festival. Everyone looks forward to the special time of the year. We would like to thank all donors for making this possible.
