The following two schools were included in this project:
– Chakersur Primary School – Nuwakot
– Annapurna Primary School – Nuwakot
After the schoolbag project in April 2018, we returned to the two schools in November of that same year to hand out 125 colourful fleece jackets and writing materials. We hope that the warm jackets will keep the children warm in the coming winter months and that it will motivate them to continue going to school.
Ram has once again done a fantastic job of stocking up on supplies in Kathmandu. On Monday, November 12, Ram, together with his wife Saraswati and their daughter Prastuti, Saraswati’s sister and a good friend of the family, John Ross from England, all traveled by jeep to the Nuwakot district to distribute the items. John has donated a generous NRP 25,000 to Laxmi Support for this project. We are extremely grateful for John’s donation.
At the Chakersur Primary School the reception was warm and speeches were given by Ram, John and also the head of the Ward (each district is divided into a number of parts, which are called ‘wards’ in Nepal). Unfortunately due to the Tihar festival, which had just concluded two days earlier, not all children were present to receive the goods, however the teachers ensured us that all children will receive the items as soon as they return to school.

We also distributed the items to the children of the Annapurna Primary School. We are delighted to be able to return to this school and continue our support. The children come from families of the lower caste of society called Dalits. They were extremely happy and grateful.

As always, we would like to thank all our sponsors for making this project possible. The children were very happy and they will enjoy the warm coats in the coming winter months. We hope to return to the schools next year for further actions.
