The project included the following two schools:
– Chakersur Primary School;
– Annapurna Basic School.
In total we made 120 students happy with a blue school sweater, hat, sandals, notebooks, pens and pencils, a useful addition to all school supplies the children need for their education.
In August 2015 Samantha, Ram, Saraswati and Gopini the marketstreets around the New Road in Kathmandu to purchase supplies for the 85 students of the Chakersur Primary School and the 35 students of the Annapurna Basic School, both located in the Nuwakot district. New Road is a maze of narrow streets with many small shops. After some searching we eventually found our trusted suppliers. We bought blue school sweaters, hats and sandals with the aim to bring these items after the rainy season, when the roads were passable again.

Due to the severe shortage of petrol in the country as a result of the blockades at the Indian border, it was uncertain whether the trip could go ahead. Fortunately Ram was able to buy 40 litres of petrol on the black market and arranged a jeep for the trip.
In November Ram collected all supplies from the stores and arranged for a porter to carry the items in large sacks to the taxi. Arranging a taxi was not so easy as there were only a few taxis around due to the current crisis and prices had tripled. Ram managed to store the items at his home, ready for the trip up to the hills of Budhasing the next day in the hired jeep.

Early next morning the jeep was loaded up and everyone joined the journey, Ram, Saraswati, Gopini, Milan, Sushila all came along. The trip to the two schools took a few hours and started with tarmac roads. We ate dhal bhat on the way and the last part of the journey was on dirt roads. After many bumpy hours the jeep arrives at the first school.
We would like to thank all sponsors for making this project possible and also a big thank you to Ram for ensuring a good completion of the project. It was a wonderful day for Laxmi Support and we are very happy that we were able to help so many children.
