Computers and printer – 2021

At the beginning of 2020, we made preparations to set up a computer room for Saraswoti Basic School in Nuwakot, but unfortunately due to the Covid-19 lockdown, which lasted many months, we were forced to put a hold on this project. Fortunately, we were able to complete the project a year later.

Five Microsoft computers and a Canon printer have been installed at the school. The equipment was purchased in Kathmandu. In the store, the computers were prepared for use and the most important software programs were installed, such as Word, Excell and Powerpoint.

Computer tables are carried to the school

Two wooden computer tables were made by Keshab Thapa, school committee member and local carpenter. After laying a red carpet, the tables were carried to the school. We also provided 10 chairs. The students were really excited as for most it was the first time seeing and working on a computer. Previously, the children would have computer lessons from textbooks without computers, but now teaching will become much easier and effective.

On the day of the opening of the new computer room, a big ceremony was held. Members of the school committee and local government were invited and many villagers came to attend the festivities. Speeches were given and there was dancing and music. We are very happy that, despite the lockdown, we were able to complete the project successfully. We sincerely thank all our sponsors for their support!
