Sponsoring 12 students – 2022

In June 2022, we set up a project to sponsor 12 children from four different schools in the Nuwakot district for the upcoming school year, which starts in July. The children come from poor families. The sponsorship consists of new school uniforms, shoes, backpack, notebooks and pencils.

De kinderen staan vol verwachting klaar om de spullen in ontvangst te nemen.

All sizes have been carefully measured and passed on to the local tailor. School policies in Nepal have recently changed, and instead of sandals, all children are now expected to wear shoes. In addition, we have provided each child with sufficient notebooks and pens/pencils for the school year.

Ram purchased the fabric for the school uniforms in Kathmandu and brought it to the tailor in the village. Due to the daily electricity cut and people working hard on the land during monsoon time, it took a little longer to finish all the uniforms. However, after a little patience we managed to distribute all 12 uniforms.

Due to the heavy rains of the monsoon season the roads were full of mud and very slippery it was a difficult journey by motorcycle to reach the two schools. With some perseverance Ram succeeded to arrive safely and the children were already waiting to receive their goods.

Below are the children of Saraswoti Basic School in Newarpani village. Two children come from the nearby Pipaldada Lower Secondary School. They were very happy with this support. We hope it improves the motivation to go to school and take classes.

Below are three more children from two other schools. The smallest girl on the left in the photo attends Chakreswori Primary School and the other two children attend Shree Chandi Secondary School. We would like to thank our sponsors for this support. Special thanks go to Photo Club FWS Maasluis in the Netherlands.
