Painting schoolbuilding – 2012

In January 2012 Jim Dinning, a volunteer from Scotland, traveled to Pokhara to spend a few weeks at Annapurna Primary School to carry out various renovation jobs. Jim applied cement to the ground between the school building and the toilet block. Previously it was a messy piece of land that became very muddy during the rainy season. The new cemented surface greatly improved the area and makes it more safe for the children to walk to the toilets. Drainage of the rainwater has also improved. Futhermore Jim repaired the playing equipment behind the school. It’s wonderful that the children can enjoy the swing and the seesaw again.

It has been three years since we painted the school building last, so it is about time to freshen up the building inside and out. Jim kindly executed the project for our charity while he was volunteering at the school.

The toilet block is painted in the same colors as the school building and beautiful symbols were painted on the walls. The wooden doors and shutters of the windows were also painted blue, and the playing equipment was painted blue with special metal paint.

Heartfelt thanks to Jim Dining for volunteering at the school and for going the extra mile of executing a number of projects so succesfully.
