Jeroen Vromans is a visual arts teacher and taught at Annapurna Primary School for a couple of weeks. Jeroen traveled to Kathmandu in September 2018 and first spent a few days in the capital before traveling to Pokhara to start his volunteer work. Read Jeroen’s experiences below:

‘During my trip to Nepal, I worked for a few weeks at a school called Annapurna Primary School in Pokhara. The intention was that I would take a number of lessons with an emphasis on drawing and painting subjects.
A particularly warm welcome as a reception. I was very surprised by the loving and open attitudes of both students and teachers. I have filled in the teaching days partly as desired by the lovely children themselves. The lessons were combined with the English language. This is quite easy to understand for both students and teachers. The children are very eager to learn and very quickly satisfied. It is very nice to see that I have contributed something in a short period of time. The experience has given me a very warm heart. The intention is that I return for a longer period next year. For now it was a wonderful introduction to what is to come.
I would like to thank Samantha for all the preliminary information, the opportunity to teach and for arranging the stay.’

We would like to thank Jeroen for his efforts and time spent at the school. We have had very positive feedback from the school’s teachers about his stay and teaching style. The children had a great time during Jeroen’s lessons and we hope that he will return to the school soon of more. Thank you Jeroen on behalf of all the children, teachers and us.
